Insurance Risk Associate (Fort Myers) Job at Millennium Physician Group
Millennium Physician Group is seeking to hire a Full-Time / Insurance Risk Associate to join the Accounting team in Fort Myers, FL. We are looking for a new team member who is positive, energetic, well-organized, can multi-task, and think outside of the box. The Insurance Risk Associate will have responsibilities supporting the Insurance Risk Manager in all aspects of the insurance and risk management programs. This will include a wide range of aspects from understanding and evaluating insurance programs and coverage enhancements, assisting in the assessment of risks that can be covered by insurance, compiling underwriting information and coverage placement, as well as assisting in the structuring, negotiating, purchasing and day-to-day management of our insurance programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assists in the identification, communication, measurement, and management of company-wide risks that are covered by insurance arrangements.
- Assists in insurance procurement, develops and implements risk management and compliance policies/procedures, and manages claims and litigation.
- Assists in relationships with third party service providers including brokers, underwriters, and other third-party administrators.
- Supports and provide recommendations regarding selection of policies, including but not limited to: Medical Malpractice, Property and Casualty, General Liability, Workers' Compensation, Directors and Officers, Automobile and Cyber-risk policies.
- Coordinates and submits, as necessary, the gathering of insurance policy renewal data.
- Partners with all departments regarding incident reports and claims or losses.
- Investigates, resolves, and responds to all property and liability claims, under the direction of the Insurance Risk Manager.
- Provides timely notification of claims to insurance carriers.
- Develops and communicates plans to address loss events.
- Works with the company's insurance brokers to respond to requests for certificates of insurance and claims history document.
- Assists to identify potential risk exposures, recommends solutions, implements approved programs, promotes loss prevention, and updates and monitors compliance.
- Assists in the management of the claims process from intake and investigation through litigation, settlement, and/or trial, and consults and/or may participate in negotiations, conferences, and mediations with adjusting companies, outside legal counsel, staff, claimants, and other involved parties.
- Assists the Human Resources Department with workers' compensation regarding incident reporting programs and processes, assessments, and reporting of claims to carriers, as appropriate.

Required Knowledge and Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Legal, Finance, Accounting, or Risk Management required.
- 5+ years of insurance and risk management experience required.
- Professional certifications, such as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM), would significantly enhance qualifications.
- Supervisory experience would enhance qualifications.
- Ability to work on a broad range of insurance risk management projects simultaneously.
Required Skills and Abilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong computer skills and be specifically strong in MS Office application (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, and balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
