Responsibilities

• The right candidate must relocate to Memphis, TN within the first two months of being employed. Training will take place between Fort Wayne and other Southwest locations (Memphis, TN and Corpus Christi, TX).
• The right candidate will be a business partner with operating units to provide human resources support (interviewing, training, compliance, communication, employee relations, benefits, onboarding, employee development, etc.).
• Candidate will be expected to keep abreast of current developments in the field and be responsible to recommend programs which are measurable and effective in developing a "world class" workforce.
• Ensure compliance with all corporate policies.
• Investigate and resolve personnel complaints and allegations of misconduct.
• Maintain positive employee relations, manage any HR employees in the division, assist with succession planning and employee development. (Research, recommend, and conduct training)
• Ability to recruit and establish a new plant/geographical area for the division.
• Training program for position includes working in scrap yards, marketing, and transportation.
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Handle confidential material in a professional matter.
• Must be a team player dedicated to the organization.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
• Master’s Degree and SPHR / PHR certification ideal.
• Minimum of three years human resources experience.
• Proficient in Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
• Excellent organizational, problem solving, and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-directed, with attention to details.
• Flexible schedule, as travel is required to the other locations within OmniSource Southwest Division.
