Help Desk Technician Job at Kelly
Kelly Services is currently seeking a Help Desk Tech role for one of our top clients in Crystal Lake, IL.
This is starting off as a 3 month contract position that has possibility to be extended; requires candidates to work onsite in Crystal Lake Monday-Friday.
Provide End-user support for hardware and software configuration and troubleshooting. Assist with providing appropriate system access. Handle various IT tasks and projects.
Responsibilities
- First responder, tier I support and technical liaison to end users, and client computers.
- Monitor and respond promptly to hardware, software and communication problems reported to the Helpdesk via email, phone, or ticketing system.
- Escalate support tickets to tier II and tier III technicians.
- Manage the resolution and communication to end users to ensure all tickets are properly logged and resolved in a timely manner.
- Assist with administrative tasks, machine patching, deployments, and tier I support for all workstations, user access, and client-side software.
- Assist tier II and tier III technicians with hardware and software deployments, security remediations, and upgrades as required.
- Handle multiple technical and end user related issues at one time.
- Maintain, create, and update technical documentation and Helpdesk knowledgebase.
- Travel to Client office as needed to provide onsite support for client computers, technical projects, or system outages.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues.
- Good communicator (oral and written); Communicate effectively with users in varying roles.
- Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products.
- Basic knowledge of networking principles and operating systems.
- Customer-service focus.
- Hands-on problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a timely manner.
- Bachelor's degree in computer information systems, computer science or equivalent related field of study.
- Excellent understanding of PC software, Windows and Apple operating systems and applications.
- Prior experience working on a Helpdesk, in IT, or similar technical function.
