Description
Spotts, Stevens and McCoy is actively recruiting for a Graduate Electrical Engineer (EIT) with 3-5 years of experience to join our Electrical Engineering team. The Graduate Electrical Engineer works with a multi-disciplinary team in the design of electrical systems in industrial, commercial, and R&D type facilities. Project work may include studies of existing conditions and systems to provide recommendations and cost opinions for code compliance; design implementation; improvements to reliability, safety, and maintenance; assistance with performing electrical studies, including short circuit, time current coordination, and arc flash; lighting calculations; construction estimates; construction administration and reviews in a variety of facilities.
Responsibilities
- Performs engineering calculations and associated electrical engineering tasks in the design and construction phases under the guidance of senior electrical engineers.
- Drafting, field data collection, documenting existing conditions, and technical writing.
- Design of power distribution systems, motor control, lighting, emergency power generation, UPS, photovoltaic, fire alarm, security, and CCTV systems for various facilities.
- Provide project development from conceptual and preliminary through final design.
Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering degree or a related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Related engineering work/internship experience preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience, preferably in a design firm setting.
- Fundamentals of Engineering Exam registration or completion preferred.
- Strong computer skills. Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; and with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel to all project sites to perform site investigations and walk-downs in high-voltage substations.
- Ability to manage tasks on multiple projects, keeping strong attention to detail.
