General Manager/Owner Job at Confidential
The General Manager is accountable for leading and managing an existing Pet Butler franchise in the Seattle / Tacoma area. This includes the management of operations, routing and scheduling, customer service, office administration, and the execution of the local marketing plan.
We have an existing franchise in the area who is seeking to transition the business to a new owner. The owner and franchisor will consider financing the opportunity for the right individual. The ideal person will go through an extensive interview process, have a 600+ credit score and pass a background check. A good driving record and a valid driver’s license is required.
This existing business has positive cash flow and room for a manager to grow the business. This is a tremendous opportunity for the right person who wants to channel their passion for pets into growing an existing recurring revenue pet service business, build a team, and who is not afraid of hard work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
·Lead the business to consistently execute the best practices, processes and procedures for providing pet waste removal, pet care (dog walking & sitting), pet shuttling and other pet related services to residences, businesses and commercial properties.
· Recruit, hire and train team members to achieve the highest level of individual performance to meet team goals and inspire your team to always put forth their best efforts, creating enthusiasm and a positive work culture that is consistent with the Company's Professional Code.
· Directly manage the route optimization and daily route management ensuring the most efficient, timely service is provided to customers, and that all assigned work is completed each day. (KPI – completed stops per day/week, stops per hour)
· Create and enforce procedures that ensure equipment and vehicles are cleaned daily and that vehicles are maintained complying with both brand and safety standards while minimize downtime and repairs.
· Become proficient in the use of all applicable software to support Company's services.
· Effectively manage purchasing to ensure adequate inventory of supplies while minimizing excess inventory levels and minimizing downtime due to trips to suppliers.
· Follow up on all unconverted customer leads.
· Develop processes for continuous improvement to eliminate service calls and cancelations. This includes contacting all customers who are unhappy with service.
· Create and execute an annual marketing plan which includes local sales and marketing activities, participation in local pet wellness and other appropriate events.

Education and/or Experience
Some College Preferred. High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. A minimum of two years pet industry experience managing employees and providing customer service preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid driver’s license required with a good driving record. Employee’s driving record subject to insurability requirements of company insurance carrier.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, maps, etc. Draft revisions to departmental procedures as needed. Ability to draft correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Basic math skills are required including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in calculating pricing and providing estimates and accounting for product usage and inventory, as well as assist with compiling a yearly budget.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding and to carry out instructions furnished in oral and written form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Programs, including: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, as well as experience with Time and Attendance Systems. Possess the ability to learn proprietary software.
Physical Demands
· Use hands to type on a computer keyboard and use mouse for navigation.
· Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance when training or performing services in the field.
· Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. of waist high and carry up to 30 foot distances when training or performing services in the field.

· Walk on flat, hilly, or uneven terrain, intermittently when training or performing services in the field.
· Sit in vehicle to drive for distances up to 50 miles intermittently when training or performing services in the field.
· Visual requirements include close distance, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus with or without corrective lenses.
· Required to hear and talk.
Work Environment
· Work indoors in an office/warehouse environment as well as out of doors in temperatures throughout the entire year. Duties include performing services and training team members.
· Sitting at a desk in front of a computer, on the telephone or standing while talking to employees while in the office.
· Potential for exposure to cold, humid, rainy, windy, foggy and dry conditions while working out of doors and driving.
· Driving on freeways, highways, and residential traffic conditions for distances up to 50 mile segments.
· Possible exposure to occasional barking and potentially aggressive dogs.
· Exposure to loud noises based on miscellaneous outdoor noises.
