Growing venture capital firm is seeking an experienced controller to oversee all accounting, tax and regulatory functions with regards to the corporate advisory entity, General Partner entity and fund entity domiciled in the US. Essential duties and responsibilities:  Responsible for oversight of corporate entity reporting including: * Primary contact for external accountants and review of accounts preparation * Review and approval of team expenses in line with the expenses policy * Preparation of actual vs budget data and financial analysis * Cash flow forecasts * Assisting with local and global budgeting  Management of accounts payable process including payment of all invoices for the US entities  Oversight of payroll process from outsources supplier  Responsible for oversight of fund reporting including: * Preparation of quarterly portfolio company valuations; including review of portfolio company legal documentation where necessary * Review and approval of fund accounts prepared by external accountants * Oversight of carry calculations, partner allocations * Preparation of LP reports  Oversight of preparation of GP accounts  Preparation of management fee calculations and input into advisory fee calculations which are subject to transfer pricing rules  Oversight of the audit process and being first point of contact for the auditors  Responsible for overseeing all required tax returns: * Federal, NYC and NYS returns for the corporate entity * K1 returns for the fund and GP entity * Extensions where required  Make relevant tax payments on a quarterly / annual basis  Perform ad hoc tax analysis to ensure all entities are tax efficient  Responsible for the capital call and distribution processes including: * Preparation of notices * Review of waterfall calculations where required * Payment of distributions * Payment into portfolio companies where required  Cash management for all entities  Responsible for oversight of regulatory requirements for all entities including: * Oversight of annual SEC / ADV reporting prepared by external lawyers * Keeping up to date with relevant venture capital requirements in the US * Ensuring that all employees have provided all relevant acknowledgements of HR policies and performed all trainings required by law  Responding to ad hoc LP queries  Performing ad hoc analysis and special projects as required  Design and enhances processes where possible  Support investment team in company analysis on an ad hoc basis *

Minimum qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in accounting required and CPA preferred  5+ years of related experience within fund environment, venture capital preferred  Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS  Ability to understand nuances and prepare carry calculations and investment waterfalls  Knowledge of valuations preparation in line with IPEV guidelines required  Strong experience of US tax environment and preparation of returns  Ability to prioritize workload, especially monthly and quarterly needs  Supervisory and leadership experience  Highly motivated with a strong work ethic  Strong analytical skills, work independently and multi-task.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills  Proficient in MS Office, with an emphasis on Excel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year

Schedule:
