Forms and Compliance Analyst / Product Development Analyst: Insurance Product Research and Development Team
Location: West Creek Office Park, Richmond, VA / Goochland, VA

Our Virginia Farm Bureau team has an opportunity for a Product Development Analyst at our beautiful West Creek office Headquarters campus. As a member of the Product Development and Actuarial Department team, the Product Development Analyst will work to develop new insurance products and enhancements to existing programs that are profitable, competitive, compliant, and consistent with the corporate goals and objectives of a multi-state insurance operation.
Using experience and knowledge of the Property & Casualty Insurance Industry, along with insurance product development and project management skills, the Product Development Analyst collaborates with business partners to successfully bring new and updated products to market.
Primary Duties:
- Identify needed product changes in collaboration with Actuarial/Sales/UW/Claims and other business partners based on identified consumer needs, marketplace trends and responsible ROIs.
- Collaborate scross teams on needs and information (underwriting, sales, claims policy services teams and others)
- Research and develop coverage forms, endorsements and rating manuals needed to support new and existing products.
- Draft forms, coverage plans and coverages, Draft applicable IS technical requirements for system implementation of product changes.
- Serve as a product subject matter expert to system implementation teams and Marketing and Training areas in the rollout of product enhancements.
- Monitor legislative, regulatory and RSO activity to ensure product compliance and initiate program changes when needed.
- Facilitate Bureau of Insurance filings and maintain a good working relationship with the Bureaus of Insurance.
- Provide product knowledge to other functional areas within the Company.
- Assist with product training as needed.
- All other duties assigned by Management.
Minimum Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or four (4+) years equivalent work experience plus,
- Minimum 4(4) years of experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance Industry.
- Minimum two (2) years project management or related (inc. cost benefit analysis, planning) experience.
- Skill researching Bureau of Insurance/State/Federal Laws, Regulations & Filings.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Keen ability to multi-task on projects while being attentive to details and target dates.
- Strong initiative, leadership and strategic thinking abilities.
- Ability to work well in a team and with all levels of the organization.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and self-awareness.
- Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- INS, AINS or similar designation.
Preferred Experience:
- Multi-state Property & Casualty insurance experience.
- Progress toward CPCU, ARP, AU, or similar designation a plus
Other Information
- Hybrid work schedule available to support some work in office and some work from home with flexibility. An example of a potential weekly schedule could be 3 days in office and 2 days from home.
