Position: Part-time Food Service Assistant

Part-time: 4 hours per school day

Salary: Mapleton Classified Salary Schedule starting at $16.62/hour

POSITION BREAKDOWN:

Position to include approximately 153 contracted days; including 9 paid holidays. The Food Service Assistant shall be responsible to the Food Service Director and the Superintendent. The Food Service Assistant assists the Food Service Manager in the efficient daily operation of the kitchen according to kitchen procedures, District policies and procedures, state and federal laws. The assigned site may vary, given the nature of the menu and the needs of the District.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The applicant must have or be able to obtain a Food Handlers Card with district provided training.

Applicant is subject to and must pass pre-employment criminal background check. Applicant must be have a complete COVID vaccine, or apply for an exemption with the district.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties will be performed consistently and accurately and include, but may not be limited to:

1- Prepare salads, sandwiches, soups, simple desserts, other lunch entrees, and breakfast related preparation.

2- Perform kitchen cleaning and dish washing (pots, pans, etc.) duties

3- Assist in setting up area for serving various food products.

4- Serve food as per site and state requirements.

5- Assit in cleaning and storing equipment.

6- Follow and support Mapleton School District policies and procedures.

7- Maintain cooperative relationships with fellow employees and students.

8- Transport foodto other buildings as needed.

9- Operate equipment as appropriate.

10- Transport food from walk-in freezer to kitchen work area.

11- Possess physical and mental attributes required to perform essential functions for the posistion of Food Service Assistant which may include; bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, lifting or carrying (35-50 pounds), reaching above shoulder, standing, walking or sitting for long periods of time. May use hands for repetitive, singe grapsing, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation.

12- Education or training appropriate to the position.

13- Supervise and assist students during food service.

14- Perform other duties as required and assigned by the Food Service Director and the District Superintendent.
