Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Responsible for leading and maintaining the overall flood and drip irrigation process for assigned farms.

· Perform tractor and forklift related duties.

· Must be able to work in outdoor environment subject to extreme weather events such as heat, cold, rain, wind and sun.

· Must be able to perform physically demanding work to include lifting up to 100 pounds, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting and walking on uneven surfaces.

· Responsible for operating and maintaining various farm equipment, vehicles and implements.

· Monitor crew to ensure that safety regulations are followed, warning or disciplining those who violate safety regulations.

· Supervises and leads farm workers and contractor farm workforce.

· Assists in training, and coaching staff to perform work safely on the farm.

· Basic math, language, and reading skills.

· Leadership and communication skills.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

· High school or general education certificate (Preferred).

· Associates Degree (Preferred).

· Must have 3+ plus years’ experience in agriculture.

· Understanding of crop requirements, production practices, and pests.

· Knowledge of vineyard or almond cultural practices.

· Understanding of equipment utilized in crop production—safety, operation, & maintenance, drip and flood irrigation.

· QAC or QAL (preferred) or Pesticide Applicator’s License (preferred).

· Bilingual (preferred).

· Forklift experience (preferred).

· Valid CA driver license (required clean record).

COMPENSATION: DEPENDS ON EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES. STARTING AT $18.00 PER HOUR OR HIGHER.
