About the Role – You Will:
- Determine production requirements (output quality and quantity, cost, time, labor requirements) by analyzing production schedules, work orders, operational tasks and sequencing, and confer with other team members to coordinate operations and activities within or between stations.
- Give clear, concise instructions to associates regarding work specifications and equipment operation, as well as oversee operational performance.
- Work closely with supplier quality, production, logistics, customer program management, and field service to assemble, certify, and deliver top quality products to our customers.
- Recommend personnel requirements including people for promotion and employment; Conduct annual performance reviews for subordinates.
- Create positive work environment; Counsel supervisors and direct labor personnel regarding work habits.
- Partner with Quality and Safety management to ensure compliance with quality and safety best practices; Write production and quality procedures.
- Implement cost savings ideas.
- Lead corrective action discussion with all functional area of the organization (i.e., Design, Factory, Engineering, Supplier Quality, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned by management.

- This position will be part of the production team that supports Proterra’s Manufacturing operations.
- You will report to the Director of Manufacturing and collaborate with other Production team members located at our headquarters in Burlingame, CA and manufacturing facilities in Los Angeles, CA and Greer, SC.

Your Experience Includes
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in the field of either Engineering, Business or Management or equivalent relevant experience.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing within a leadership role or in a military environment.
- Must be hands-on manager with ability to provide positive and constructive feedback, coach/mentor and develop individuals.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the proven ability to communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively and frequently within the team and the company.
- In-depth knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen and Continuous Improvements initiatives.
- Strong experience in project management.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, supervisors, and employees
- Proven ability to prepare complex written reports and other documents.
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification, preferred by optional.
- Lean Expert certification, preferred by optional.
- APICS certification and training, preferred by optional.
- MBA, preferred by optional.
