HOURS ARE PART TIME 6 HOUR SHIFTS BETWEEN 1PM AND 9P DURING THE WEEK AND 7A-330P EVERY OTHER WEEKEND FOR A TOTAL OF 32 HOURS PER WEEK.
Requirements
- Minimum 1- 3 years of housekeeping/environmental services experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- MUST BE COVID VACCINATED OR BE ABLE TO PROVIDE A RELIGIOUS OR MEDICAL EXEMPTION UPON HIRE
General Job Description
The Environmental Services Technician works under the general direction of the Facilities/EVS Supervisor and provides custodial and housekeeping duties in and around Doey’s House; works with each department and the Clinical Manager to meet the custodial needs of facility; and resolves problems to ensure clean and safe operations. My have to float to offices at Franklin Hospice, Franklin County, PA and our headquarter offices at Underpass Way in Hagerstown.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains the cleanest and safest environmental conditions possible for patient comfort as related to cleanliness, health and sanitation.
- Responsible for cleaning of all staff, family and public areas.
- Provides maximum bacteriological control to limit infection by proper aseptic techniques.
- Removes all trash daily and takes to dumpster.
- Dusts, sweeps and mops as required to meet regulation standards.
- Vacuums carpet as required to meet regulation standards.
- Maintains and cleans all equipment, including refrigerators in a functional and organized manner, and in accordance to specified regulations.
- Performs preventive maintenance in and around facility as needed.
- Cleans all entrances interior and exterior glass weekly. Cleans all other windows as needed.
- Assists with internal moves.
- Responds to service requests from departments, Doey’s House Clinical Manager, and other staff.
- Reports and responds to emergency calls for environmental services assistance.
- Reports any safety issues to Supervisor.
- Models prompt and regular attendance.
- Understands and exemplifies hospice philosophy, values, beliefs and team concepts in all job-related roles.
- Provides notification of absence per HWC policy.
- Maintains a neat clean appearance and work area.
- Exhibits cost effective use of time, mileage and supplies.
- Demonstrates familiarity with and adheres to HWC policies and procedures, state, federal, and accrediting agency’s requirements.
- Wears identification/name badge during working hours according to HWC’s policy.
- Promotes and maintains respect for rights, privacy, and confidentiality of others. Respects patient and staff confidentiality at all times.
- Participates in committees, task forces and HWC events as requested.
- Attends staff meetings, mandatory in services, and other meetings as appropriate or upon request.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or designee.
- Understands and exemplifies hospice philosophy, values, beliefs and team concepts in all job-related roles.
