Job Purpose
Welcome to EnerSys! We are looking for enthusiastic, passionate students to intern with our team developing energy storage systems including Lithium-Ion technology. We are the global leader in stored energy solutions and believe in redefining technology to empower our customers and meet the needs of a changing world in applications such as satellites, submarines, semi-trucks, substations, forklifts, 5G networks, and more. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- After 30 days in your role as an intern you will have accomplished becoming acquainted with your new team and completing introductory training. This is your opportunity to begin collaborating with discipline experts and aid in the development of designs and design documentation for ongoing programs
- After 60 days you will have taken a larger role in contributing to test planning and test execution to verify design solutions. You will also have met with other team members regularly to better understand their roles and how you should be working together to strategize and achieve team goals.
- After 90 days you will have a firm understanding of energy storage technology and meeting today’s challenges for our customers. You will be able to help with the generation of reports and presentations to convey design concepts, testing results, and simulation outcomes
As an Embedded Software Engineering Intern, you will contribute to the successful development of new and exciting energy storage battery systems. You will have the opportunity to work with a high performing team and energy domain experts to help drive product system design and development. You will gain valuable experience working at a global company and industry leader to help launch your future career.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Basic skills in Python, C, or other programming languages
- Understanding of basic embedded product development life cycle, includes requirements analysis, hardware/software design, code implementation – C and MATLAB and testing.
- Understanding of basic software development process along with demo project experience
- Experience in basic software development tool chain, building, flash, and verification
- Having basic battery management system knowledge is plus
- Able to read/trace and debug hardware schematics and test bench
- To be enrolled in an accredited 4-year college studying engineering or engineering technology in any of the following: electrical, computers, or electronics
