We are looking for a dynamic and talented Director of Strategic Communications to join our UF Health Communications team in Gainesville, Florida. We are seeking a seasoned communications professional to establish the strategic direction for internal and corporate communications programming and initiatives for UF Health and to contribute to fostering a culture of collaboration and service. The director will lead a team of communications professionals; develop and implement strategic communications plans, campaigns and tools; play a principal role in framing the academic health center’s approach and response to significant issues and/or crisis situations; and manage emergency communications response efforts for the hospital system in Gainesville.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in leading strategic communications programs in a corporate or academic setting, outstanding strategic communications planning and analytical skills, strong writing capabilities and an ability to build collaborative relationships at all levels and to promote cross-functional teamwork across a complex and diverse organization. Experience in higher education or health systems is a plus.
