Mid-Atlantic Industrial Construction, LLC (MAIC) is a heavy industrial mechanical contractor that focuses on the installation, service, and maintenance of power and process systems in the manufacturing and power generation market. MAIC is based in Baltimore, MD with a satellite office in Hagerstown, MD.

MAIC has a focus on the process industrial market with our primary focus being the installation of equipment, piping, and structural steel for a core group of clients that demand quality, safety, and reliability. With that in mind, we work in a wide range of environments from Food Grade Manufacturing to Chemical Processing and Power Plants. Our projects may include:

  • Storage Tanks, Make Up Tanks, Process Tanks
  • Pumps
  • Process and Utility Piping, Valves, and Instrumentation
  • Process Manufacturing Equipment Removal or Installation
  • Structural Access Platform, Ladder and Stairway Fabrication & Erection
  • Conveyor Systems
  • Selective Demolition of items described above

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This role will include a 50/50 split between time in the field and time in the office.
  • Assigned projects are of various durations and complexities with a focus on building client relationships.
  • Daily coordination with the Project Manager and/or Operations Manager to support current and upcoming projects in the field.
  • Assist with project buy-out for supplied materials, ensuring compliance with client specifications and industry standards.
  • Expedite the material deliveries of subcontractors and suppliers in accordance with the project schedule and coordinated with the project team.
  • Ensure project specifications are defined and adhered to. Seek clarification through the RFI process and ensure drawings are up to date.
  • Manage budgets on a project-by-project basis within the company cost control system.
  • Accumulate all necessary data for monthly owner and subcontractor applications for payment.
  • Assist with pre-construction and progress meetings with clients and subcontractors, as appropriate.
  • Assist with estimating new opportunities, to include labor production, material take offs and quotes, and subcontractor pricing.
  • Maintain and complete a current record of submittals (when required), approvals and re-submittals.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

EXPERIENCE

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
  • 2-5 Years previous construction experience, preferably as a Mechanical Contractor or Prime Contractor in an industrial environment.
  • Thorough understanding of plans and specifications.
  • Layout drawings (plan and elevation views)
  • Process & Flow Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Piping Isometric Drawings
  • Scheduling and estimating experience are a plus.
  • Self-Starter – Ability to work alone on a project, and as part of a team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills.
