CNC Machinist/Programmer Job at QPS Employment Group
Job description:
Our Client is a union manufacturer specializing in heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment.
They have 2nd shift positions available running CNC Mills and Lathes in a clean environment with minimal supervision and optional overtime (non-mandatory). The rate of pay is based on prior work experience and schooling, PLUS a $1.50 shift differential. Skill blocks, available after the probationary period to test on, add up to additional $2.25 money per hour.
Responsibilities:
⦁ Plans for each day’s machining by studying blueprints, engineering plans, and materials
⦁ Analyzes information and finds the best solutions to problems
⦁ Programs CNC mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points
⦁ Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations
⦁Adhering to safety procedures and regulations to ensure safe operations
⦁ Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance
⦁ Continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions in our internal electronic system
⦁Confers with engineers, production, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems
Qualifications and Skills:
⦁ Ability to operate and program CNC mills or lathe
⦁ Proficient computer and technical skills
⦁ Can read blueprints
⦁ Detail oriented
⦁ Team player
⦁ Self-starter
Education and Experience Requirements:
⦁ High school diploma or equivalent
⦁ Experience operating CNC mills and lathes in a production environment
Physical Demands:
The individual will regularly be required to stand. The individual will frequently be required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The individual will occasionally be required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The individual must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those individuals encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position requires the ability to pass a competency test, pre-employment drug test, and background check.
