United Health Services (UHS) is seeking full-time Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our team at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich, New York.

Position Overview

The CNA performs basic patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and maintains the patient care and unit environment consistent with the policies, procedures, and practices of the Nursing Division and United Health Services. They also promote a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.

Essential Functions

Essential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that are performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Provides basic patient care including activities of daily living and personal needs.
• Assists patients with eating and hydration by opening containers, cutting food, or feeding patients when directed by RN.
• Measures and records a variety of clinical measurements (i.e., vital signs, patient weight, intake, and output).
• Ensures the patient has a comfortable and safe environment. Follows Patient Rounding standards.
• Communicates regularly with the nurse about patient condition according to unit standards.
• Performs the functions of Unit Secretary when assigned.
• Complies with organizational and departmental ergonomic & safety principles while performing all work-related activities.

Position Requirements

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

• CNA Certification

Preferred:

• Previous hospital or healthcare experience

License/Certification

Minimum Required:

• New York State Certified Nursing Assistant
• CPR Certification within 3 months of hire
