A Japanese petrochemical company celebrating 111 years in business is hiring a business manager. The company has been expanding our operations since 1986 and are selling chemical products with special characteristics. Looking ahead to the next 10 years, they are in the midst of drawing a picture of further expansion, and it seems that the realization will become a reality. We are currently looking for people to join us in this expansion.

About the company:
This company introduced the world to the first semi-crystalline version of polystyrene (syndiotactic polystyrene, SPS) that was both cost effective and easy to process in conventional molding operations. SPS offered customers substantial improvements in durability & electrical insulation in a light weight material: ideal for automotive customers. They are looking for an experienced plastics professional that can continue to develop automotive applications that have been the strength of our product line and simultaneously expand the syndiotactic polystyrene product line into new applications. The ideal candidate will also be able to support our current customers with their strong background in plastics and injection molding technology and work effectively in a global corporate organization that is interdependent.

Business Manager Goals:

• Identify valid automotive applications at strategic customers and define the resources necessary to secure specification of syndiotactic polystyrene products.
• Maintain current customers support & growth objectives.
• Establish leadership for N. American syndiotactic polystyrene products within the global organization.
• Develop and initiate a syndiotactic polystyrene marketing program in N. America.

Business Manager Responsibilities:

• Develop industry contacts to assess growth opportunities and prioritize programs with the highest probability of success.
• Promote syndiotactic polystyrene products to broad customer audiences at the regional & national level.
• Support current customers with hands on technical service (products & processing) and commercial support such as price negotiation and product training.
• Communicate essential goals, responsibilities and progress to global syndiotactic polystyrene products team members to improve the efficiency of marketing efforts.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• Broad experience in automotive plastic product specifications
• Success in developing marketing campaigns for plastic products
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Strong background in plastic materials & processing
• Bachelors degree in scientific/technical discipline: preferably plastics
• Willingness to travel, regionally & globally

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $140,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
