Title: Full Charge Bookkeeper
Reports to: President and Vice President
Job Summary: The bookkeeper maintains all Personnel and Payroll records and is responsible for all financial functions, including Invoicing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Banking, Financial Reports and other duties that may be assigned. Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality in all matters.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Accounting:
- Enters customer payments checks and other payments into system
- Maintains an accounts receivable balance (responsible for collections)
- Administers and conducts month end closing process and accurately prepares month end reports for management (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow analysis, etc.)
- Reconciles all cash receipts, bank statements, and other accounts monthly
- Prepares Trial Balances of General Ledger
- Prepares all bank deposits and inter-account bank transfers, as directed by management
- Receives and reviews all incoming invoices, codes invoices for general ledger, prepares and mails payments and keeps accounts payables up to date.
- Works with customers to resolve payment problems and to ensure low level accounts receivables.
- Produces sales commission reports and payroll.
- Responsible for the maintenance of an accurate inventory count
- Maintains a good working relationship with key vendors and customers
- Keeps all paperwork filed in a timely and orderly manner
- Provides all reports required and requested by accountant
- Other duties as they are requested or assigned by management
Personnel
- Maintains all personnel records, attendance records, vacation records and time sheets
- Administers company health care and 401-K programs
Requirements:
- Minimum of five years of bookkeeping experience in a small business
- Excellent working knowledge of QuickBooks – Enterprise and Microsoft Office
- Understanding of Account Classifications, i.e. assets, liabilities, income, expense and debits and credits.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must provide references
Salary commensurate with experience. Health care, vacation and 401-k Plan. Philadelphia suburbs.
