CarePro Health Services-Cedar Rapids has an immediate opportunity for a reliable and self-motivated Billing Specialist to join our team!
In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of day-to-day billing functions that include claim billing/submission, insurance follow up, claims resolution, charge entry, accounts receivable, and payment posting.
This position is scheduled Monday thru Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and has the opportunity for a flexible work week and/or to work from home/remotely for the right person! Our ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and able to prioritize work, demonstrate initiative and teamwork while providing exceptional customer service.

Duties of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Obtains physician orders and CMNs (Certificate of Medical Necessity) from physician as needed, ensures compliance and logs details
- Resolves customer billing-related issues; evaluates customer concerns and coordinates a resolution to ensure service recovery
- Accurately enters daily intake of insurance payments, identifies refunds and write-offs
- Audits patient files for intake accuracy; performs advanced file maintenance on patient records and information system; files and/or creates patient records
- Reconciles patient accounts regarding billing to correct insurance and billing errors
- Communicates effectively with customers, doctor’s offices, and insurance companies to ensure appropriate payment for products and/or services provided
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; proven experience as medical billing specialist required; solid understanding of billing software and electronic medical records; Medicare rules and insurance reimbursement is a plus; must have strong computer skills including Microsoft office and the internet.
