Soul Joel’s at SunnyBrook is one of the few remaining dance halls of the pre-World War II era still in existence. It began as a swimming club in 1926 and in 1931, the ballroom was constructed. During the big band era of the 1930’s and 1940’s the ballroom rose to prominence as one of the country’s great dance floors. Throughout the heyday of big band music, the historic ballroom was a regular stop on the tours of all the era’s big bands. Benny Goodman, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra are just a few of the names of nationally known performers. The venue has hosted political rallies, community meetings, weddings, class and family reunions, high school proms, and many other events. At The SunnyBrook Ballroom we strive to give our guests a most memorable experience and look for extraordinary people to provide that service.

Overall Job Responsibilities:

• Accommodates primarily both the wedding couple, throughout their event, for whatever they made need to make their wedding day totally special.

• Will spend long hours on their feet, standing, walking, and moving around near the wedding couple, as well as moving furniture to accommodate their needs.

• Requires the individual to be extremely courteous, cordial, and polite to the Guest/Customer always.

• Will actively support and be an integral part of the team.

• Will be willing to do light cleaning in required specific areas i.e., server stations.

• Be responsible for their respective areas as it relates to proper set-up, positioning of tables, full condiments, cleanliness of tables and chairs, etc.

• Assisting in the set-up and breakdown of rooms.

• Communicating to management suggestions for improving service to the Guest/Customer.

Requirements: Candidates should have the following qualifications:

• Must possess effective communication skills.

• Position requires the individual to maintain flexible availability, will work weekends, double shifts, and some holidays.

• Must have a neat, clean, and well-kept appearance.

• Prior hospitality server experience is important.

• Must be able to enter orders effectively and quickly into the Point-of-Sale System, (P.O.S.).

• Must be able to carry a service tray weighing more than thirty pounds.

• Must have viable means of transportation to work

Starting Hourly Wage is negotiable
