Job Title: Supervisor - Assessment Team
Reports To: Director of Clinical Services
Classification: Exempt
Location: Assessment Office
Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm (evening and weekend availability)
Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services, the Assessment Supervisor is responsible for managing all aspects of the client assessment process including leading, supervising the members of the assessment team, establishing and maintaining positive relationships with customers and referral sources, responding to requests and concerns, and managing the insurance verification and authorization processes. The Haven endorses a trauma-informed care approach and a medical model of SUD treatment.
Essential Functions
1. Directs all daily client referral and assessment operations, including but not limited to scheduling, documentation and insurance requirements, client education on programming and levels of care and payment options.
2. Manages and staffs with appropriate Clinical Leadership The Haven’s Residential, Intensive Outpatient and Outpatient wait list(s).
3. Manages Assessment team to ensure timely (same day) completion and comprehensive quality of assessments. In addition, to providing assistance to clients in completing required documentation.
4. Performs assessments and case consultations, as needed.
5. Provides clinical supervision and performance reviews per the Haven’s policies and procedures.
6. Participates in Residential and Outpatient Teams meetings
7. Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with current and potential referral sources, funders and other stakeholders.
8. Interacts with Haven staff to communicate appropriate information about clients coming into treatment.
9. Participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities.
10. Trains assessment staff on assessments and assessment tools and capturing quality measures.
11. Ensures that staff supervised possesses required competencies in all aspects of their job duties.
12. Engages in staff development and the development of training materials for staff's continuing education
13. Works with Clinical leadership to ensure compliance with funder deliverables to assure The Haven meets audit expectations and complies with CARF requirements.
14. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Director of Clinical Services
Qualifications at Hire
Education:
· High School Diploma or GED (required)
· Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related behavioral health field (preferred).
Experience:
· A minimum of 2 years Behavioral Health experience (required)
· A minimum of 3 years related experience (preferred)
· A minimum of 2 years supervision/managing the work of others (preferred)
License/Certification:
· Licensed by the Arizona Board of Behavioral health as a LAC, LPC, LMSW, LCSW, LAMFT, LMFT, LASAC or LISAC (preferred)
Additional Requirements:
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a AZ Level-1 Fingerprint Clearance Card with 90 days of hire.
- Must possess and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification at hire or within 30 days of hire.
Skills:
· Demonstrates clinical competency in accordance with standards for the position.
· Extensive clinical knowledge of behavioral health disorders, across all populations (persons with serious mental illness, substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders)
· Knowledge in case management and intake processes, preferred.
- An understanding of the behavioral health field and funding systems
- Extensive experience requesting managed care pre-authorizations for substance treatment programs.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills using MS Office products, Word, Excel, Access, etc., importing/exporting date to/from applications.
- Experience with an electronic medical record system
· Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills
