BASIC OVERVIEW

Material Handling Equipment Technician will be responsible for the preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all forklifts used in the operation of the warehouse.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work in a safe and professional manner at all times, keeping the safety of oneself and others as their highest priority
• Desire to learn new skills that will benefit the Team and Company as a whole.
• Perform PM’s and repairs on Crown branded lift equipment and other rolling stock with the warehouse.
• Assist Facilities MHE Technician in repairing and maintaining all lift equipment.
• Safely operate all warehouse equipment, while abiding by all forklift safety training, to ensure a safe work environment (must go through our training and certification).
• Effectively communicate, with Manager and Team members, through phone, text and email.
• Report any accidents, incidents, or Safety concerns to a supervisor immediately.
• Keep work zone clean and orderly and help maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Perform other duties and tasks not listed as requested by the shift manager.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a distribution environment; shipping, receiving and/or inventory experience preferred
• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Experience with the maintenance of material handling equipment required
• Experience with Crown Lift equipment a plus
• Previous experience in the Electrical, Mechanical or HVAC fields preferred
• Electrical troubleshooting skills are beneficial
• Ability to work at elevations of up to 50’
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Customer service-oriented attitude with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 10-12 hours/day depending on shift
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing
• Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
• Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching
• Requires the ability to regularly lift / carry 50-75lbs. and push / pull up to 150lbs

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasional activities may involve exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.

SHIFT SCHEDULE

• Monday-Thursday from 6:00 PM to 4:30 AM, this position may require scheduled overtime
• Starting wage is $26.00/hr with a $0.25 raise at 60 days and a potential up to $0.88 in raises every 6 months
